Welcome! I'm Marko. My research interests span computer science, applied mathematics and statistics with a focus on developing more effective algorithms with provable guarantees. I am also interested in developing machine learning applications.
I completed my MS in Industrial Mathematics at the University of Hamburg. My thesis was on Exact Algorithms for Dense Maximum Cut supervised by Prof Matthias Mnich at the Institute for Algorithms and Complexity. Before that, I studied for a MS in Applied Statistics and a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Ljubljana.
I have worked on machine learning applications in biotechnology, medicine, and fraud prevention, building, evaluating, and deploying large-scale models. Prior to that, I was a student researcher at the Jozef Stefan Institute, applying deep learning to robotics and evaluating machine learning algorithms.
